SBES Admission 1] PLAYGROUP/NURSERY EDUCATION ADMISSION POLICY This section admits children of pre-school ages of 18 months to 11/2 years. It is placed under the leadership of an experienced supervisor, assisted by a number of dedicated teachers with Montessori background. This section also places so much emphasis on safety and comfort. Priority is given to individual contact to ensure that each child is guided into activities and learning experience appropriate for him/her. No undue emphasis is placed on formal academic work. 2] PRIMARY EDUCATION ADMISSION POLICY St. Bernadette School at this level offers the widest possible range of subjects for each child and has a well-balanced curriculum. Character is developed and maintained in a happy yet disciplined atmosphere, necessary to provide the high standard of education, manners, speech and moral principles, which will enable our pupils to take their place in the world as useful and responsible citizens. Pupils at the end of primary six are expected to take the national common entrance examination. Pupils are expected to take the primary six leaving certificate examination through which the ministry of education allocates the children to different secondary schools. Admission into her private secondary schools is also encouraged. 3] SECONDARY EDUCATION ADMISSION POLICY The admission to the college is by examination and interview. The Entrance into JSS 1 takes place in June every year in the school. Private test sessions are available at the school for those who are unable to attend. Entry into JSS2 and above depends upon vacancies occurring in those years. Parents of student seeking admission under these circumstances are advised to contact the school. |
